In 1996, strength coach and insurance agent Bob Westerfield looked at an outdated scoring table at Springboro High School in Ohio, and saw a beautiful partnership. The school was desparate for a table that functioned well and looked good, and Bob knew businesses that wanted to be featured on the table. Bob purchased a Power Ad company scoring table and featured local businesses on the table. The table came free to the school, produced revenue for the athletic department, and the local businesses got recognition for being THE sponsor of Springboro athletics. This began Side Effects.
24 years, 800 schools, and $44M given later, Side Effects had the opportunity to purchase the Power Ad Company to continue their name and legacy of quality products. We became the Power Ad Company, providing not only the best in high school sports marketing, but COVID solutions for schools, digital marketing for businesses, and much more.
